About Us

Lohnica was founded in 2023 by Marius Kreis – an HR-tech and payroll expert with deep roots in software development. Back in 2016, he founded the company Elohna in Switzerland. Its payroll solution was so convincing that bexio acquired it as early as 2017 – clear proof of its quality. Marius stayed on as product manager for payroll until 2019, even after bexio was acquired by Schweizerische Mobiliar Versicherungsgesellschaft in 2018. With this experience, he launched Lohnica in mid-2023 to reinvent payroll for the German market.

We want to fundamentally simplify payroll in Germany – through consistent automation and an open API. To that end, we focus on two core areas: a modern digital payroll system and a powerful payroll engine that integrates seamlessly into existing systems via its interface.
