Which AI assistants are supported?

Any MCP-capable client, including Claude (claude.ai and Claude Code) and Cursor. Connecting is a single entry in the client’s MCP configuration.

What can I calculate?

Gross to net, net to gross and labour cost to net – including special cases such as minijob, the transitional area, company pensions and company cars. Plus the list of all health insurance funds with current supplementary rates.

How do I authenticate?

Via an API key from the self-service portal at api-portal.lohnica.de, or via OAuth. The same key also works for the REST API.

MCP usage is billed by volume, like the Gross-to-Net API. You can create your own key in self-service in the API portal.

The Lohnica MCP server brings gross-to-net, net-to-gross and employer costs directly into Claude, Cursor and friends – no local installation, with values updated daily.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the open standard that lets AI assistants use external tools. Lohnica runs a remote MCP server at mcp.lohnica.de: once connected, your assistant can perform real payroll calculations – with the same daily-updated values as the API, instead of rough estimates from training data.

This turns a generic AI into a reliable payroll expert: HR chatbots answer salary questions with real numbers, internal copilots calculate staff costs, and consulting becomes interactive – every follow-up question is recalculated on the spot.
